Littler has expanded its Chicago office with the addition of Richard Mrizek as a shareholder, further strengthening the firm’s employment litigation, workplace investigations and regulatory enforcement capabilities. Mrizek joins from Jackson Lewis P.C. and brings more than two decades of experience as a senior trial attorney with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), together with extensive private practice experience representing employers in complex workplace disputes, investigations and high-stakes employment litigation.

Mrizek spent 20 years as a senior trial attorney at the EEOC, where he litigated matters involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. During his tenure, he participated in numerous jury trials, including serving as first-chair trial counsel.

Since entering private practice, he has continued to represent employers nationwide in EEOC investigations and litigation, including high-profile national and systemic discrimination matters.

His practice includes defending employers in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies such as the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Human Rights Commission.

Focus On Complex Workplace Investigations

Mrizek has significant experience guiding employers through every stage of EEOC investigations, including responding to requests for information, managing large-scale document productions, handling subpoenas, and defending systemic investigations.

He also regularly represents employers in complex class action litigation, including Rule 23 employment discrimination cases.

Supporting Employers In A Changing Regulatory Environment

Littler noted that employers continue to face an increasingly complex regulatory landscape surrounding workplace discrimination, investigations, and compliance obligations.

By combining decades of government enforcement experience with private practice representation, Mrizek brings a unique perspective to employers responding to agency investigations and defending employment-related claims.

His experience is expected to be particularly valuable for Illinois employers as the state continues to implement significant changes to employment laws and workplace regulations.
