Ryan is a highly accomplished trial lawyer with extensive experience representing clients in complex, high-stakes civil litigation. Board Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he has taken cases to final verdict throughout his career, serving as lead counsel in jury trials, bench trials, and binding arbitrations involving business disputes, product liability, fiduciary duty, professional malpractice, wrongful death, and catastrophic personal injury claims.
Ryan is widely recognized for his courtroom success. In 2020, he served as plaintiff’s trial counsel in a breach of fiduciary duty case that resulted in a verdict exceeding $40 million. At the time, it was the largest private-plaintiff verdict in Travis County in two decades and the second-largest private-plaintiff judgment in the county’s history. The case was later recognised among the National Law Journal’s Top 100 Verdicts of 2021 before ultimately being resolved by mutual agreement following extensive post-judgment proceedings.
Representing clients on both the plaintiff and defence sides, Ryan combines extensive trial experience with a practical, results-driven approach to complex litigation. In addition to securing substantial plaintiff verdicts, he has obtained favourable outcomes for defence clients through summary judgments, take-nothing verdicts, and negotiated settlements. His ability to manage challenging commercial and personal injury disputes has earned him a reputation as a trusted advocate in high-exposure litigation.
Ryan is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He was named Baylor Young Lawyer of the Year in 2016 and Austin’s Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year in 2013. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas before graduating with honours from Baylor University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Texas, the United States District Courts for the Western and Northern Districts of Texas, and the United States Supreme Court.
