Jackson is an experienced trial lawyer with ArentFox Schiff LLP who heads the firm’s Complex Litigation practice in its Washington, D.C. office. With more than 20 years of experience, he maintains a national litigation practice focused on bankruptcy and strategic litigation, customs and international trade disputes, and complex commercial matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and has first- and second-chaired jury, bench, and administrative trials in a wide range of civil and criminal cases.

A substantial part of Jackson’s practice involves high-stakes bankruptcy and restructuring litigation. He has served as lead litigation counsel in some of the country’s largest and most complex Chapter 11 proceedings, including matters involving Caesars, PG&E, Hertz, Endo, Mallinckrodt, and Cengage. His experience includes representing creditor constituencies, handling complex financial restructuring and valuation disputes, pursuing and defending fraudulent transfer and preference actions, and litigating matters involving indentures and the rights and remedies of indenture trustees.

Jackson also handles a broad range of complex commercial disputes. His experience includes business tort and contract claims, real estate disputes, shareholder litigation, non-compete and non-solicitation matters, False Claims Act and qui tam litigation, healthcare disputes, international trade and customs matters, probate litigation, and criminal and white-collar defense.

His practice spans every stage of litigation, from early strategic counseling and problem solving through discovery, trial, and appellate review. Jackson’s work across civil, criminal, administrative, bankruptcy, and commercial forums gives him broad experience adapting trial strategy to the particular legal and business issues facing each client. He holds an AV Preeminent® rating.

Jackson earned his J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law in 2002 and later attended the Naval Justice School in 2003. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1999. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, New York, and Virginia.

ArentFox Schiff’s Litigation practice includes more than 200 litigators representing clients in complex civil and criminal matters before federal and state courts, regulatory agencies, and arbitral tribunals in the United States and internationally. The team manages disputes strategically and with close attention to clients’ broader business objectives, evaluating available options at each stage of a matter.

The practice has substantial experience coordinating parallel civil and criminal proceedings involving multiple jurisdictions, parties, government entities, and overlapping federal and state laws. Its work spans securities and white collar enforcement, False Claims Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters, managed care, class actions, ERISA, insurance, intellectual property, and environmental disputes, including high-stakes matters with significant commercial implications.

The team includes a former U.S. attorney, former Department of Justice lawyers, a former U.N. ambassador, a former Naval judge, mediators, arbitrators, and experienced trial lawyers.
